Timeleft
About a year ago, I downloaded a little widget to my computer desktop called Timeleft. Timeleft counts down the days to something, so I set it to count down the days until my 50th birthday. It was always there, sitting quietly in the corner of my screen, inconspicuously saying “Happy Birthday” with, you know, 301 days, 3 hours, 24 minutes and 16, 15, 14… seconds left.
I didn’t think to turn it off after my birthday, so at the moment I’m able to tell you that I’ve been 50 for 63 days, 8 hours, 27 minutes and 1, 2, 3… seconds. Is this too much information? I’m still kinda diggin it, although maybe I should go ahead and set it to countdown for my sixtieth birthday? I mean, that party’s gonna rock.
(I know, you thought I was going to say, like, “Can we really know how much time is left…?” Ha!)

Hi Laura. I enjoyed reading about your life. I hope your tomatoes are ok this year, I think as long as you plant them deep enough and they get enough sun and you don’t water them at night, its pretty much going to be good. I hope you enjoy your trip to London, I’ve been there twice; my favorite city is Rome, though I’m Anglo/Czech, and not Italian. But I do love London, its just dirty and drearfully ugly in spots, like Chicago (its partially a product of the Industrial Revolution, as is Chicago). PS I have relatives who square-dance in St Louis, as well as a friend who married a woman from St Louis (my hometown) who insisted on archaic dancing at their wedding: the brother of the bride we termed “The Gandy Dancer” as he leapt around leading the attendees in a 19th or 18th century dance.
